Cable Ship Ile de Brehat arrives in Honiara

Early in the morning as it was getting light the long awaited and eagerly anticipated Alcatel Submarine Networks cable ship “Ile de Brehat” made her way along Iron Bottom Sound to the port of Honiara where she will be docked for the next day or two. While completing her paperwork formalities there will be a conducted tour of the ship for VIP’s on afternoon of 11th July. She will then begin Cable laying operations for the Solomon Islands leg of the International CS2 cable, initially with the bringing ashore and tying off of the marine cable in SISCC’s Honiara beach manhole. She is anticipated to be operating in Iron Bottom Sound until 17th July then make her way to join the PNG leg in the Coral Sea. More updates will follow.
