The Solomon Islands Submarine Cable Company Limited (SISCC) is a joint venture company incorporated in the Solomon Islands in August 2016. 

The shareholders of SISCC are the Investment Corporation of the Solomon Islands (ICSI) with 51% of the share capital and The Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) with 49% of the share capital. It is therefore a 100% government backed company who will own and operate Submarine Cable services in the Solomon Island territory.

Following the completion of their Shareholders Agreement on 20th July 2018, the shareholders purchased their shares for a combined value of $29.7M USD, sufficient to fully fund the co-contribution required from Solomon Islands Government under the tri-partite MOU signed in Brisbane Australia on 11th July.

SISCC will construct all the required Landing Party Infrastructure in the Solomon Islands ready for cable installation in mid 2019.  SISCC will complete the procurement and installation of its own infrastructure to support customers by September 2019 ready for final testing.

SISCC will operate in the Solomon Islands using the business name “Solomon Submarine Cable”.  Solomon Submarine Cable will be a Wholesale Operator, selling international and domestic capacity to any licensed operators in the Solomon Islands on a non-discriminatory basis.
