Lengakiki Landing Station and Office is delivered and installed

On 27th of May the site at Lengakiki Ridge in Honiara received its first prefabricated building, fittingly the most important one that will house both Coral Sea Cable System and the Solomon Islands Domestic Network.

The largest of SISCC’s prefabricated Cable Landing Stations arrived from X-Site Modular in the USA after transporting from the port of Honiara in two loads. It was installed on the foundations and mated together to make a single building ready for installation. Generators for backup power arrived shortly after and the mains was connected.

The cable contractor, Alcatel Submarine Networks are currently installing the power feed equipment and the Fibre terminals (SLTE’s) for CS2.
